A climbing trip up the Grünstein mountain proved fatal for Elisabeth. While Johanna treats her mother's injured ankle at home, the Beissl family receives news that the tour's mountain guide, the internationally acclaimed climbing star Leon Stöhr, has been found dead. He was bludgeoned to death, as Dr. Hartmann determines beyond doubt at the scene of the crime at the foot of the mountain. Sophia and Jerry's investigation quickly focuses on mountain filmmaker Maren Rieder. Contrary to her usual practice, she wasn't supposed to accompany the two climbing brothers, Leon and Bastian, on their prestigious US trip to Yosemite National Park and was very disappointed about it. Furthermore, Sophia finds a headband outside the Stöhrs' office. The dead man's brother, Bastian Stöhr, also seems suspicious. He obviously has something to hide. And when the brothers' climbing partner, Rupert Heckmair, reports a heated argument between them, Sophia decides to start observing the Stöhrs' house on her own. When she follows Bastian Stöhr to a remote mountain cabin, she experiences a huge surprise. She now desperately needs Jerry and Beissl's help. But Beissl is currently very busy trying to convince Sophia's son Luis to take a role as a police officer in a play. With resounding success.
