Walking with Prehistoric Beasts

A 90-minute documentary about life before the dinosaurs. Starting from the Cambrian Period (530 MYA) and ending at the Early Triassic Period (248 MYA), Walking With Monsters shows the life and death struggles prehistoric creatures before the dinosaurs went through. It also portrays an accurate picture of our first ancestors.

A group of animals have to leave their home, the Farthing Wood, which was destroyed by the people. They travel to the famous White Deer Park and want to make a new home there. Fox is their leader and Toad their guide. Also with them are Badger, a very old resident of the Farthing Wood, Owl, who is very wise and often helps them, and Mole, the little friend of Badger.

This new, extra chapter of Walking with Dinosaurs (1999) focuses on an allosaurus later discovered in 1999 affectionately called "Big Al", who died as a late adolescent/early adult of six years of age. Narrated by Kenneth Branagh, who also narrated the original series.

Where _Walking With Dinosaurs (1999) (TV)_ took us through the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous Eras, Walking With Prehistoric Beasts examines the various Cenozoic eras, when mammals began to dominate after the massive late Cretaceous extinction that killed 65% of life on Earth, including the dinosaurs.

Dripping with kid friendly sarcasm, this series presents various animals from several periods that thrived during the age of dinosaurs and explains how they thrived, reproduced and co-existed.
