Five young people converge for a one night stop-over in Bangkok. Five young travelers meet in Bangkok, where a tragic incident changes the direction of their lives. On her way to Australia, London lawyer Tamsin meets friends Lizzie and Callum for a one-night stop-over in Bangkok. Joining them are Australians Ned (an actor) and Nic (a teacher) on their way to London. When a tragic accident proves that life is fleeting, emotions rise to the surface, prompting a devastating confession, impulsive decisions, and itinerary changes.

Tamsin finds it difficult to be excited about life in Sydney and is tempted when her fiancé appears, offering to take her home; Ned's father deals him a major bombshell.

It's safe to say that London hasn't lived up to English teacher Nic's expectations: After disaster strikes his new flat, he finds himself staying with a fellow teacher and his interesting family. Nic is getting in a lot of TV viewing, but just when he thinks his life has truly hit rock bottom, he finds himself being blackmailed by a student with whom he had a one-night stand. Meanwhile, still reeling from the discover that Ned is not his son, Jeremy heads back to Australia from London to confront his ex-wife Lydia. As for lovely Lizzie, she's still haunted by the tragic boating accident in Thailand.

Ned finally gets a role in a great acting role but just as things seem to be great for him, he walks away. Nic shoots for the stars when Richard Branson takes much interest in one of his ideas which could save his airline company millions of dollars. Callum is bailed out of detention centre and finally gets his life back together. He finds the perfect guy, who falls in love with him. Tamsin ruins her career when giving information to the defence lawyer, who happens to be Jeremy. Lizzie gets a surprise when Jim's brother Robbie tracks her down and they end up sleeping together. She finally reveals the devastating truth about Jim.

Just when Tamsin thinks her career is over, an unexpected source, Sam helps her, and she makes a promise that she might not be able to keep. Callum finds out that his new boyfriend Charlie is engaged, but Charlie doesn't think that it should affect their relationship. Magnus reveals that he has feelings for Lydia--will their relationship be changed forever? Ned does Lizzie a big favour by pretending to be her boyfriend to impress her sister. The thing is, Ned enjoys the act. Nic has difficulty coping with the pressures of his new job in the airline business. Will his new career be over before it begins?

Tamsin prepares for her wedding to Sam, all the while trying to convince herself that it's the right thing to do. Nic works hard to convince himself he belongs with Flick. But when Tamsin and Nic find themselves alone together, their actions suggest otherwise. Ned finally admits an attraction to Lizzie, but his desire to reignite his career proves an obstacle.
