Red visits Ranger Gord, who frequently gets struck by lightning because his tower has the only metal in 50 square miles. Red sings, "What do you see when you look at a tree." On Red's Male Call, Red answers a letter from a viewer who wants to know how to treat a gunshot wound. On Adventures with Bill, Bill demonstrates how to erect a tent. Harold talks about household chores. Red teaches young Max how to play basketball. The highlight of the talent show was Red and Harold singing "Tie a yellow gibbon 'round the old oak tree".

So, he asks Red about his compost humus distribution system, which it turns out was actually the outhouse blowing up story.

Red tells more about the whittling contest, but Harold cuts him off. Red visits Glen Brackston to get his outboard motor fixed. Red and Harold sing their own version of "If You're Happy and You Know It". On Red's Male Call, Red answers a letter from a viewer in Quebec who is confused about different names for the same animal. On Adventures with Bill, Bill goes water skiing. Glen Brackston finishes working on the outboard motor without actually doing any work. Harold and Red talk about Harold's dream during a game of horseshoes. Glen Brackston has to figure out how much to charge for doing no work. Red talks to teenagers about staying in school. First prize in the whittling contest went to Moose Thompson, who tried to carve a block of granite and ended up whittling his knife into an ice pick.

The Wind-Powered Boat

The lodge considers switching to an alternate power source for the boat since gasoline is expensive. Red sings a song about Strongman Jack. On Handyman Corner, Red demonstrates how to change a headlight. In Endless Summerrr, Red reads poems about summer outside in the hot sun. Red tells about how they first tried to make a solar-powered boat, but it didn't work very well for night fishing. So they eventually decided to go with wind power using a wind mill. Harold suggests using a sail, but Red explains that real men need a boat with a motor and that sailing is for wimps who wear little white shorts. Hap Shaughnessy tells a tall tale about raising tigers on a ranch in Kenya. Back on Handyman Corner, Red finally gets the old headlight out and replaces the bulb. Then he discovers that it was the other headlight that was burned out. On Red's Male Call, a viewer wants to know about Red's new nickname: Possum. Harold thinks that possums are like cowards, paralyzed with terror when they are attacked and tries to explain that "Possum" is a stupid choice for a nickname, but Red just plays dead until Harold leaves. On Adventures with Bill, Bill uses a metal detector to help Red find his watch. Red and Harold talk about Harold's Driver's Education class during a game of horseshoes. Red finishes the story about the wind-powered boat. They found an old windmill from a miniature golf course, installed it in the boat and attached it to the generator from Red's old Studebaker. None of the guys had much faith in the mechanism, but it surprised everyone ... by sinking.

Hot Water Bottle

The lodge has become more safety-conscious since the methane explosion when Stinky Peterson dropped his cigarette down the two-holer. Red sings a song about a girl in his high school. On Handyman Corner, Red makes a coffin out of a broken freezer. In Spring Hopes Eternal, Red reads poems about spring outside in the rain. Buster Hadfield likes dangerous games. He wants the guys to blow up a hot water bottle until it explodes. Red visits Bob Stuyvesant, of the Dept. of Natural Resources, who golfs while he works. Red sings a song about his trick knees. On Red's Male Call, Red has detailed advice about which fishing lure to use for pickerel, but one-word answers for everything else. On Adventures with Bill, Bill teaches Red about archery. Red reads a poem about summer. Harold wants to be excused from gym class. Hap Shaughnessy tells a tall tale about working in the engine room on a nuclear submarine, shoveling uranium 287 into the nuclear furnace. Buster Hadfield got the hot water bottle inflated to the point where it had filled up the room, but it got punctured by the antlers on the wall, and it blew out the side door and skipped down the lake with Buster hanging on for dear life. Now the whole area smells like Buster's breath.

Red visits Glen Brackston to get his outboard motor fixed. Red sings a song about the greatest danger he ever faced. On Red's Male Call, Red gets a letter from Ed McMahon. On Adventures with Bill, Bill goes scuba diving and loses his scuba gear, so he goes snorkeling. Red reads a poem about summer, the ice cream season. Red and Harold talk about Grandma Green's picnic while playing a game of horseshoes. Red goes back to Glen Brackston to pick up his outboard motor, but Glen hasn't even started on it. Red reads a spring poem about smelling the flowers. Red visits Bob Stuyvesant to ask about restocking Possum Lake, but Bob thinks the guys should all take up golf instead. The bear spent a couple of days in the lodge before Stinky Peterson realized that it wasn't Moose Thompson. It was during the poker game, the bear was winning.

Gun Powder Shakes

Moose Thompson decided to make shotgun shell salt and pepper shakers when he came home from a duck hunt with a whole boatload of empty shotgun shells and no duck. Red visits Dougie Franklin and his monster truck, which Dougie claims is like a magnet to women. Red sings a song about wishing to take a wet towel to a nudist camp. On Red's Male Call, Red answers a letter from a viewer who wants the show to be more like old The Dick Van Dyke Show. On Adventures with Bill, Bill plays with slingshots. Red reads a winter poem about dashing through the snow in a one-horse open sleigh. Red and Harold discuss minimum wage. Red talks to teenagers about voting. Red checks up on Jack the caveman. Red finishes the story about the shotgun shell salt and pepper shakers. Moose Thompson got the shotgun shells mixed up and put the live ammo on the dining room table, while Buster Hadfield went out duck hunting with the salt and pepper shakers. Buster brought down a couple of pre-spiced ducks. At dinner, the guys sprinkled gunpowder and buckshot all over their food. Then Stinky Peterson burped and blew a hole in the lampshade.

They were going to start off by painting some safety slogans, but Stinky Peterson fell off the ladder and landed on the paint roller. Red sings a song about a strange toy his father gave him when he was a little lad. On Handyman Corner, Red demonstrates how to fix a toaster. In Endless Summerrr, Red reads a poem about burning your backside on a black car parked in the hot sun. For safety week, they found that most of the life jackets had been duct taped together to make a flotation ring for the beer cooler. Red visits Ranger Gord, who just started his 13th year up in the tower. On Red's Male Call, a viewer asks why there are no women on the show. On Adventures with Bill, Bill shows different ways to extinguish a campfire. Red reads a poem about trying to pull-start the damn lawnmower. Ranger Gord explains that he hates the moon and the stars because they don't talk to him like a friend, they only speak German. Red and Harold talk about puberty. Red visits Jimmy MacVey, who ordered a new propeller for his boat, but it's coming all the way from Hong bloody Kong, so he uses a ceiling fan instead. For Safety Week, the guys decided to have a fire drill at the lodge. They all ended up with injuries except for Red, who slept through the whole thing.

Red visits Dougie Franklin and his monster truck that can do a hundred miles an hour in first gear. Red sings a song about his beard. On Red's Male Call, they didn't get any letters from viewers this week, so Harold wrote one. On Adventures with Bill, Bill goes orienteering but forgot that he had a magnet in his pocket. Red finishes the story about the running shoe in the chili. It was accidentally dropped there by a woman who has been searching for the shoe's owner for years, trying it on every man she met.

Water Tower

The water pump at the lodge broke down and nobody wants to go under the lodge to fix it, so Stinky Peterson suggested that they build a water tower. Red sings "Who has the oldest clothes?" On Handyman Corner, Red converts the doors on an old car into gull-wing doors. In The Harder The Fall, Red reads a poem about animals fattening up for hibernation. The guys decide that instead of using wood or metal for the water tower, they will just use a giant plastic bag. Red wonders why Harold isn't interrupting the story the way he usually does. Red visits Bob Stuyvesant, who plays golf while he marks trees for the Ministry of Natural Resources. Red sings a song about flies in the sugar bowl. On Red's Male Call, a viewer wants to know if you can make explosives out of a cake mix. On Adventures with Bill, Bill goes fishing with his new trolling motor. Red reads a summer poem about nut-balls on jet-skis. Red and Harold talk about Harold's inflatable shoes. Red talks to teenagers about free love. Bob Stuyvesant pressures Red into playing golf with him. Red tries to end the show without finishing the water tower story, so Harold finishes it for him.

Moose Thompson thinks he can build a jet-ski out of a snowmobile. Red visits Glen Brackston, who is going to Disney World, leaving nobody to run the marina. Red sings a song about an enchanted work horse who was granted three wishes. Handyman corner continues with Red showing what to do if your tools don't work anymore because somebody used them for the wrong purpose. On Red's Male Call, a viewer wants to know if wrestling is fake. On Adventures with Bill, Bill demonstrates how to use a bola. Red reads a winter poem. Red tells Harold about when he was a teenager and chips only came in one flavor. Red sings a song about a guy that nobody liked, but always lost at poker, so they let him stay. Red reads a poem about birds migrating overhead. Hap Shaughnessy tells a tall tale about spearfishing under the ice in the Yukon. Moose Thompson made his own jet-ski out of a snowmobile and about nine life jackets and tried it out on the lake. He said that he was gonna make it all the way across the lake and he was half right.

New Well

Red and Harold sing "Oh well, at least I'm not a Mole". On Handyman Corner, Red demonstrates a safer way to winch your boat up onto your trailer. In The Harder The Fall, Red reads an autumn poem about migrating geese. The pump stopped working in the well at the lodge, but no one wanted to go down there and replace the washer on the foot valve. They figured it would be easier just to dig another well. Stinky Peterson did the digging while the rest of the guys watched him work. Red visits Bob Stuyvesant on the golf course to seek his help filling out a government form. Coincidentally, it will take Bob about the same amount of time to fill out the form as it would take for them to play a round of golf. Red sings a song about walking away from a job. On Adventures with Bill, Bill makes animal traps and Red makes a Bill trap. Red reads a winter poem about frozen toes. Red asks Harold if he has discovered girls. Red helps Dougie Franklin check the oil on his monster truck. Stinky Peterson finally hit water but he had gone so far off course that he had dug into the old well shaft. So they just tossed down a new washer to fix the foot valve.

Canoe Jousting

The guys had a canoe jousting contest where you tie your laundry to the end of a paddle and then use it to try to knock the other guy out of his canoe. Red sings a song about killing a mosquito with a 16-pound sledge. On Handyman Corner, Red turns and old junk car into a garden center. In Spring Hopes Eternal, Red reads a poem about young couples in the woods. As Red continues the canoe jousting story, Moose Thompson made it to the semifinals by biting the bottom out of Stinky Peterson's canoe. Red visits Glen Brackston to get some outboard motor oil, but Glen can't remember where he keeps it. Red sings a song about burning the steaks. On Red's Male Call, Red answers letters about etiquette. On Adventures with Bill, Bill demonstrates how to find water in the woods. Red reads a summer poem about the days getting longer. Red and Harold discuss which sport is better: soccer or hockey. Glen Brackston sits and thinks about the Grand Canyon while Red looks for the motor oil. As Adventures with Bill continues, Bill's dousing rod leads him into the lake. Red sings a song about a grass fire in the back yard. Red talks to teenagers about rebelling. In the final match of canoe jousting, Buster Hadfield swings his paddle and catches Moose Thompson right between the eyes. This gets Moose laughing and unable to fight, so the match ends in a draw.

Water Slide

In The Harder The Fall, Red reads a poem about a pumpkin. To build the water slide, they duct taped together animal food troughs stolen from local farms. Then they ran the chain of troughs from the roof of the lodge all the way down to the lake. Red visits Dougie Franklin, who had promised Red a ride in his monster truck. But Dougie's driver's license got suspended for driving 60 mph down a sidewalk, taking out a traffic light, and running over 9 BMWs. Red sings a song about about a quiet evening spoiled by an incredibly rude noise. On Red's Male Call, Red answers questions about the meaning of life, teaching the bible in schools, and whether we are alone in the universe. On Adventures with Bill, Bill demonstrates signaling. Red reads a winter poem about watching snowflakes fall. Red and Harold discuss time travel. Red finds part of a BMW still jammed underneath Dougie's monster truck. Red gives advice to teenagers who have just gotten their drivers license. Moose Thompson went down the slide before they even had a chance to put any water on it. He was the first to realize that the slide ended just short of the lake, so they added another trough. Buster and Stinky had a couple of good runs, but it wasn't fast enough for Old Man Sedgewick, so he took off all his clothes and covered himself with salad oil. He came out of the water slide so fast that he skipped four times across the lake and landed in a bonfire at the girl guides' camp.
