The third and final season of Aaron Sorkin's drama opens in the spring of 2013 as anchorman Will (Jeff Daniels) and the rest of the "News Night" team at the fictional Atlantic Cable News (ACN) deal with startling new situations and tie up loose ends. Following a drop in ratings, ACN begins to experience changes within the company and strides are made to gain younger viewers. Maggie (Alison Pill) and Elliot (David Harbour) travel to Boston to cover the Boston marathon bombings; Neal (Dev Patel) finds himself in legal trouble that could affect the network, but Will comes to his aid; and Sloan (Olivia Munn) struggles to keep a new romance secret. In other developments, Jim (John Gallagher Jr.) and Maggie fly to Russia in an attempt to locate NSA whistle-blower Edward Snowden; and Reese (Chris Messina) clashes with his half-siblings, Randy (Chris Smith) and Blair (Kat Dennings).
