Boston-based private investigator Brian Wolfe is followed as he works on his cases. It's inspired by actual cases investigated by Wolfe and his assistant, Janine McCarthy, and whether the target is a cheating spouse, dishonest employee, or scammer, each half-hour episode follows the two from the initial client consultation to evidence-gathering stages and finally a confrontation with the accused. Wolfe, a no-nonsense guy with a thick Boston brogue, conducts field work using an arsenal of tried-and-true P.I. tricks; McCarthy picks up the data trail left on the Internet; and re-enactments give each case life, disclosing a shadowy world where things aren't always as they seem.

Cases with lingering unanswered questions are reexamined.

The Devil Speaks immerses viewers into a warm and happy world of people whose lives are about to be overturned by a brutal murder. The Devil Speaks uses real recordings to peel back the layers of the case; from police interviews, to recorded phone calls and voicemails. Only then do we tie all the elements together, showing the chain of events that lead to murder.

Criminal Behavior Analyst, Casey Jordan, interviews women who have been accused and/or charged with stabbing their spouses or boyfriends. The viewer sees an interview with the accused women and a reenactment of the alleged history of the relationship.
