When Wheezer's stepbrother tells his mother that Petey killed a neighbor's chicken the dog is sent to the dog pound. Wheezer's aunt then comes to the rescue by paying the fine and having Wheezer and his sister Dorothy come live with her.

Episode 4

Choo-Choo

Exchanging clothes with a group of orphans who are running away, the kids end up on a train headed for Chicago. A Travelers Aid attendant Mr. Henderson (Dell Henderson) is assigned to transport the children to catch up with the other orphans who had to leave on an earlier train. The kids annoy every passenger in their car and cause Mr Henderson much grief and embarrassment by their bad behavior. Three year old baby Spanky punches the face of every adult who is near him . Things come to a head when Stymie accidentally releases a monkey in the baggage car and the monkey releases the other animals in transport and also manages to get hold of some fireworks which he sets off causing explosions throughout the train. At the end of the episode, while disembarking with other passengers that were injured in the chaos of the exploding fireworks, Mr. Henderson is told he has the wrong children and must bring them back on a train to California.

Stymie saves the gangs' dogs from a dog catcher, but his dog is picked up; he is then told if he doesn't pay the fine his dog will be killed.

Mary Ann is sick. The gang gives their dog to shop keeper in exchange for a doll, but as they are leaving the store Stymie breaks two vases. The shop keeper takes back the doll to pay for the broken vases, but keeps their dog.
