A series featuring a group of human and animal characters inhabiting the magical walled garden of an English country estate. At the beginning of each episode, the narrator speaks the magic word, "Herbidacious", which causes the garden gate to open. The various characters were named after or personified different kinds of herb. As each character appears in the show, they are introduced by a little signature song, which varies slightly from one episode to the next. The main character is Parsley the Lion, a shy but friendly feline. Parsley is a cowardly lion who typically runs at the first sign of trouble, but he has a cunning mind which he uses to rescue his friends and associates. His companions are the hyperactive Dill the Dog and the foul-tempered Sage the Owl. The local authority figure is the buffoonish aristocrat Sir Basil .The supposedly great sportsman is fascinated with hunting and fishing, but he is relatively inept in both of them. Sir Basil almost never has the safety of his rifle on, leading to the rifle going off at inappropriate moments. Another local authority is the local cop Constable Knapweed, who typically attempts to enforce various nonsensical laws and procedures. He is apparently the only police officer in the area. While often seen preparing reports about local lives and crimes, it is left unclear to which superiors he is sending the reports. The recurring cast of characters includes the small dragon Tarragon, who accidentally destroys inanimate objects with the flames which he generates. He has the fire-breathing ability associated with dragons, but he is unable to control he flames.
