Character-driven re-enactments and rare archival footage are used to showcase the career trajectories taken by the featured subjects. In addition to the aforementioned figures, the program discusses the careers of General Motors co-founder William Durant, automobile executive Lee Iacocca, and John DeLorean, whose namesake car has become a part of American pop culture. Among the show's executive producers is Dale Earnhardt Jr., whose family is synonymous with cars through its racing legacy.
