The second season of this drama opens with Carrie (AnnaSophia Robb) and her pal Walt (Brendan Dooling) enjoying the summer in New York City. While trying to get into a club one night, Carrie meets a new and slightly older friend: the wild and street-smart Samantha Jones (Lindsey Gort), who temporarily becomes her roommate. Before long, Carrie begins her senior year of high school while continuing her job at the magazine. At work, she's tasked with interviewing playwright Adam Weaver (Chris Woods), and a romance between the two of them soon develops. Meanwhile, Walt begins dating Bennet (Jake Robinson), who learns that his ex-boyfriend now has AIDS. As graduation looms, Carrie and her dad (Matt Letscher) butt heads over the topic of college.
