The housemates meet a stuck-in-the-'70s neighbor named Randy, and are divided into two teams for a game of dodgeball, with each squad squaring off against WWE wrestlers Hardcore Holly, Booker T., Mark Jindrak, Charlie Haas and Maven. Two members of the losing team face elimination in the Liars' Lounge, where they must identify real '70s celebrities from fake ones.

The housemates are quizzed on the 1970s and the one who scores the highest is excused from another challenge: washing cars while dancing. The elimination round is "Supermarket Shenanigans," in which contestants guess the prices of products in 1974.

The remaining eight housemates are split into two teams and take a day cruise, in which they must match the couples on-board. The winning team is treated to a fancy lunch, while two members of the losing team face off in a Limbo competition in the elimination round.

The housemates compete in a pageant, hosted by Erik Estrada, that includes competitions involving talent, speech making and how good they look in bathing suits. Later, two contestants take part in a game in which they must guess the astrological signs of five celebrities.

Everyone responds to "The Hustle" except Ashley, who's asleep; Randy drops by to quiz the cast on basic 1970s trivia. Also: the housemates must teach passersby at a mall how to do "The Hustle" or jazzercise. In the elimination round, two contestants face off in a roller-boogie competition.

The remaining housemates have to pen a '70s-style song that has parts for each of them to sing, and then perform the tune in public. Later, two contestants have to identify popular '70s songs in a game of "What's That Song?"

Former '70s idol Leif Garrett lends his expertise when the final four square off in a "TeenBeat Magazine Pin-up Challenge," which features them shooting a cover picture for the teen-oriented magazine. Two winners are then chosen by students at Pasadena High School and the losers head to the elimination round---with one of the winners.

The final two contestants compete in a daylong event: a '70s-themed decathlon that features a different event for each year of the decade. It's "the most insane competition I've ever been a part of," says one. The games include a cake-baking contest using Easy-Bake Ovens; the game Simon; a beer-can pyramid on a water bed; an Evel Knievel-like jump; and, overseen by comedian Gallagher, a challenge to find a key inside a watermelon.
