When Amber and her friends look down on Ruby and Jade for not acting like "proper" princesses, Sofia encourages her friends to change so they'll fit in. But her well-meaning advice only hurts their feelings, causing Ruby and Jade to leave the party in anger. Feeling guilty, Sofia sets out to make things right. With encouragement from Queen Miranda, she learns that true friendship means accepting people for who they are, not trying to change them. After Sofia apologizes, Ruby and Jade forgive her and they start their own slumber party, and Amber and the princesses also realize their mistake. The girls reconcile and end up enjoying a fun-filled sleepover together as new friends.

Let the Good Times Troll

Sofia accidentally drops her kite near a scary cave that is said to be home to green trolls. James then tells the story of King Gideon, who saw the trolls banging their clubs outside the castle courtyard. He ordered his guards to chase them back into their cave and made a rule that they could never leave again. Sofia becomes friends with a troll named Gnarly and a toddler troll named Teeny. She soon learns that the trolls just want to look at the stars and the banging of their clubs is really their way of making music when they're happy, not an attack. Hoping to show that the trolls are friendly, Sofia secretly brings them in the castle to perform for her family. However, she gets in trouble for breaking the rule, and the trolls are chased back to their cave. Sofia apologizes to them, and after learning the truth, King Roland realizes the trolls were misunderstood. He lifts the old rule and allows the trolls to come to the surface to see the stars.
