Once a stereotypical nerd, Eliza Dooley (Karen Gillan) is now a glamorous, self-obsessed social media star. After an embarrassing video of her goes viral, Eliza realizes that being friended on social media is not the same as having friends in real life. She enlists the help of her type-A, marketing genius coworker Henry Higgs (John Cho) to remake her image and change her reputation. Despite his negative opinion of Eliza, Henry takes on the challenge and over time the assignment begins to change them both. Loosely based on "My Fair Lady," "Selfie" is a comedic look at how being considered beautiful on the outside doesn't necessarily make for beauty on the inside.
