The Hammonds find a possible cure and a possible cause for Sheila's (Drew Barrymore) zombification, which leads them to a mad chase for Serbian bile and monster Serbian clams. But as if their problems couldn't get any worse, Abby (Liv Hewson) gets in trouble in school and becomes jealous of Eric's (Skyler Gisondo) relationship with Ramona (Ramona Young), while Joel (Timothy Olyphant) gets overwhelmed with the changes in their lives. On top of that, the family's cop friend Anne Garcia (Natalie Morales) begins investigating the Santa Clarita murders, and a mysterious couple named Paul (Zachary Knighton) and Marsha (Jaee Young Han) are stalking the Hammonds. Plus, Gary (Nathan Fillion) turns up undead. The family struggle to come up with an exit plan before things head further south.
