Robert Irvine visits Nampa, Idaho, to rescue a Hawaiian-style restaurant, Island Kine Grinds, from bankruptcy. The eatery opened in 2011 and serves island-style, Hawaiian meat and vegetable classics plus hearty sides. However, co-owner Renus Domingo's health problems have left his wife Ludi Domingo completely overwhelmed, and Robert must help Renus and Ludi heal their restaurant to prevent both their marriage and business from failing.

In Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Yolanda "Yoli" Perrilloux, the owner of Pimanyoli's Sidewalk Cafe and Catering (also known as Pimanyoli's Smokehouse) struggles to keep running her restaurant after losing her husband, Pepper "Piman" Perrilloux. The restaurant was opened in 2008, and the unusual name of the eatery is a combination of the nicknames of Yolanda and her late husband. During the September 2022 filing of this installment, Robert Irvine tries to help Yolanda become motivated and let go of her overwhelming grief to save her dying restaurant. In spite of Robert's help and Yolanda's best intentions, Yolanda made an announcement in January 2023 that her restaurant has permanently closed its doors at 14241 Airline Hwy and is no longer in business.

In Baton Rouge, Louisiana, chef/owner Maurice Walker claims to be proud of his Cajun/Creole-inspired eatery, 'Boil and Roux' restaurant and bar at 11777 Coursey Blvd., but his lack of leadership and inability to inspire his staff threaten to destroy the business. If Robert Irvine cannot teach Maurice how to lead effectively, his restaurant has no chance to survive. At the end of the program, after two days of working with Robert Irvine, there has been a transformation in Maurice. He is energized and it shows. He acknowledged that he will now effectively lead his restaurant employees and strive for success.
