In the series premiere of Private Eyes West Coast (Episode 1: "Changing Tides"), Matt Shade and Angie Everett have relocated to Victoria, British Columbia, hoping for a quieter, fresh start away from the hustle of Toronto. However, their peaceful new chapter is short-lived. During what is supposed to be a relaxing date night, a man turns up dead and his girlfriend is wrongfully arrested for the murder. Unable to ignore a miscarriage of justice, Shade and Angie shake off their semi-retirement, dive back into action, and officially open a brand-new private investigation firm on the West Coast to clear her name and find the real killer.
