Stowaway Leo Corbett won't let the lack of a passport prevent him from joining. Just as he's caught, Maya emerges onto the moon with three insectile pursuers.

Quasar Quest: Part 2

As Terra Venture prepares to leave orbit, guilt at leaving his friends behind induces Kai to steal the Megaship (now a museum) and put it back into service, taking along Alpha 6 and mechanic Damon Henderson through a space portal. On Mirinoi, the six Earthlings take a stand against evil alien Furio and his horde of Stingwingers. During the scuffle, Mike and friends get the Quasar Sabers. Infuriated, Furio seals the planet in stone and causes Mike to fall into a fissure, likely to his death, but not before passing his saber to Leo. Focused in anger, Leo instinctively leads the others into becoming Power Rangers. They battle and flee the planet, and through the portal return to Terra Venture.

Race to the Rescue

Fortunately, the Quasar Sabors have other plans.

Unable to return him, Commander Stanton has Damon teach the boy how to earn his keep (dealing with hazardous materials in a hazmat suit). Furio sends Gasser to put all on Terra Venture to sleep. All but Matthew and the Rangers succumb. As the Ranges handle Gasser, Matthew struggles to keep Furio and the Sting Wingers from taking over the ship's Command Tower. As a reward for proving himself an asset to the station, the Ranges take him home.

The Lights of Orion

Since she looks exactly like Kendrix, Kendrix agrees to sub for her despite a leg injury from Wisewizard (and despite pre-existing GSA and Ranger duties to boot). From Kendrix, Carolyn learns the value of determination.

Scorpius, fearing for his safety, orders his new general, Treacheron, to enlist three monsters to kill him. Though the Magna Defender is squarely against the monsters, he doesn't ally himself with the Rangers, which leaves them puzzled.

Ironically, the feuding pair become trapped together when Destruxo erects a force field wherein he can extract the Lights of Orion from Terra Venture's soil. While it'll take two asphyxiating girls (miniature versions of Maya and Kendrix) and a window display to restore the lady Ranger's friendship, the boys take on the Magna Defender when his overly aggressive efforts to break the barrier from without threaten the integrity of Terra Venture itself. At last, the Lights of Orion appear, and the Magna Defender succumbs to a glitch.

Orion Returns

The Lights of Orion, having once flown off into outer space, return to the vicinity of Terra Venture, igniting a desperate race between the Power Rangers and Scorpius' forces to possess them. As the Lights penetrate the space station, the Magna Defender enters the fray, despite his worsening heart condition. To their horror, Destruxo achieves victory and becomes an unstoppable foe, yet treachery befalls him when Trakeena uses Impostra, the shape-changing monster, to change things up. Once freed, the Lights themselves make a choice on whom to bestow their power, and a betrayed monster finds himself imprisoned.

Trakeena finds herself double-targeted for revenge by both Treacheron and the Magna Defender. Freed from captivity by the loyal Shark brothers, Treacheron seeks retribution for his undeserved dishonor and wrongful incarceration; Magna Defender seeks an eye-for-an-eye against Scorpius for his young son Zika's murder. As the Magna Defender experiences further problems of the heart (in Mike's voice), the Rangers find themselves disadvantaged, unable to access the power of the Lights of Orion without Leo (sidelined with injuries). Stirred by Mike though, Leo quits his sickbed to engage in a fight to the death for the sake of his friends.

Redemption Day

When the Scorpion Stinger develops a critical fuel leak, Scorpius replenishes its lost supply by siphoning off energy through Terra Venture's Mountain Dome. This affords Magna Defender the chance to finally kill Scorpius, but at the cost of destroying Terra Venture. With his heart condition worsening and ToroZord deserting him, the Magna Defender admits his return came about due to taking over Mike's spirit back in the Mirinoi chasm, forcing him now to make a dire request of Leo - "Kill me" - but a ghost presents a different course for him to follow.

Following a successful afternoon of getting warriored up, word of Scorpius dying draws Trakeena quickly to his side, only to be told it was all the Red Ranger's fault. As the Power Rangers celebrate Scorpius' death with a picnic, Maya senses the evil change in alien command.

An Evil Game

Their failed attempt provides Leo some liberation, Deviot some frustration, and Kegler an interesting observation.

Once free, Loyax readies to resume their fight, now deeming Maya worthy enough to defeat alone, but Deviot's impatience for results forces Loyax to work alongside the Rangers against him.

By becoming part of "the latest haul," Mike infiltrates the enemy camp to strike from within and strikes up a connection with prisoner Haley to free everyone. As it happens, Kai, with Leo's help, figures out how to reverse the spell in The Lost Galaxy Book to escape back into their own universe, opening a portal. Seeing it, Cdr. Stanton (ignorant of the Rangers' rescue attempt, or of Capt. Mutiny at their heels) cuts his losses and heads Terera Venture towards the portal, but it begins to close. Mike, at great sacrifice, guarantees everyone's escape, but Trakeena, waiting right on the other side, delivers a special greeting to Capt. Mutiny.

Journey's End: Part 1

With Terra Venture's output only a tenth of normal, Cmd. Stanton steers her towards the closest planet, by chance an inhabitable green world that meets all their colonization requirements. Trakeena, having accidentally merged with Deviot in Scorpius' cocoon, becomes psychopathically evil. Her attacks upon the station force it to crash into the planet's moon and crack its main dome, but not without Leo damaging the Scorpion Stinger in return. Set to explode, the Stingwingers encroach upon the Earth colonists.

Though Leo moves to end the conflict once and for all, it takes the reappearance of forgotten friends to save the day, to make the Rangers aware of coming full circle, and to usher in the return of a lost friend.
