Phantom Investigators
A comedy mystery series, set primarily in the Lugosi Junior High School in San Francisco. Four 13-year-old paranormal investigators try to resolve strange cases involving (among other elements) a hidden portal to the Nether Realm, a retro car which negatively affects the mental health of its drivers, a mummy unable to enter the afterlife on its own, and a local demon maintaining control over human ghosts for several decades. The leader of the group of investigators is Daemona Prune, a redhead with no superhuman abilities. She relies primarily on her intellect and on ghost-hunting equipment which she inherited from her late grandmother Mary Prune. Daemona's best friend Kira Jones is an African-American telepath who can probe minds, and influence people. She is trying to launch a career as a DJ and she is struggling to fit the investigations in her hectic daily schedule. The third member of the team is Jericho, a telekinetic boy with a passion for sports, including skateboarding and martial arts. While he is the least academically-inclined member of the group, he is furious when people insult his intellect or talk down to him. The fourth and last member of the group is Casey, a bespectacled and bookish boy with shape-shifting abilities. He is socially awkward, and he has no friends outside the group. He lives with his single father, who is too preoccupied with work to spend time with him. The group has a mentor figure in the form of Professor Felix Navarro, who provides them with both advice and equipment. The group eventually realizes that the seemingly young professor is an apparent immortal who has not aged a bit since the 1950s, and they try to figure out why.
