A brash, Harvard-educated attorney leaves a big-city practice to work in a Southwestern town (where there are more cases for a criminal lawyer than you might think). A distinctive series characteristic was its use of flashbacks to show various viewpoints of the crime (a technique that another sadly underappreciated series, 'Boomtown,' perfected three decades later).
