Season 2 of this period crime drama is set in 1921, two years following the end of the first season. The Peaky Blinders' success with various legal and illegal business ventures in Birmingham leads their ruthless boss, Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy), to pursue expansion of their territory toward London. Tommy's plan to obtain power over the area and its racetracks is thwarted as the local mob boss of London, Darby Sabini (Noah Taylor), and Major Chester Campbell (Sam Neill) both take notice of his intentions. Derby Day arrives as Tommy reaches the height of his frustration with the obstacles preventing him from controlling the underground criminal world of London, and he has a plan to get revenge on his enemies while simultaneously advancing the authority of the Peaky Blinders.
