This premise follows a straight man Joe Goodman (David Krumholtz) and his lifelong gay best friend Louis McManus (Michael Urie) now working together at their own architect company. Louis is in a committed relationship with his boyfriend Wyatt (Brandon Routh) but is skeptical that Joe should take the next step and propose marriage to his girlfriend Ali (Sophia Bush). Series creators David Kohan and Max Mutchnick ("Will & Grace") admittedly have based this show on their own relationship.
