In the middle of the 21st century, a group of pioneering humans have fled a decaying Earth to establish the settlement Forthaven on a harsh planet called Carpathia. The series beings 10 years later, with the arrival of the last transporter that will reach Carpathia from Earth, and revolves around the relationships between the existing settlers, the new arrivals into the community and those living outside Forthaven.
