One Day at a Time

Among his peers' other talk-shows, Jerry's is of the more passionate and of the more sensational. His topics range from bisexual affairs to rape. His guests sometimes get out of control and yell and scream at each other, but they are more believable than some other talk-shows.

Bodie and Doyle, top agents for Britain's CI5 (Criminal Intelligence 5), and their controller, George Cowley fight terrorism and similar high-profile crimes. Cowley, a hard ex-MI5 operative, hand-picked each of his men. Bodie was a cynical ex-SAS paratrooper and mercenary whose nature ran to controlled violence, while his partner, Doyle, came to CI5 from the regular police force, and was more of an open-minded liberal. Their relationship was often contentious, but they were the top men in their field, and the ones to whom Cowley always assigned to the toughest cases.

Life in the Chicago projects is never easy. However, the Evans family never gives up trying to make the best of things. While Florida and James struggle to provide for their family, their sons, J.J., an aspiring painter, and Micheal, the undying political crusader, cause trouble while their sister, Thelma, stands between them as the voice of reason. Living in the same building were Willona Woods, Florida's best friend from high school who provided support, love and gossip and Nathan Bookman, the overweight janitor who gave them grief and was the butt of a lot of fat jokes, especially Willona who often referred to him as Buffalo Butt or Booger. Life, at least, is never boring while they fight to keep their heads above water and one day leave the projects, which they did in the series finale. Sadly, it was without James, who was killed off in the 4th season.

From the acclaimed comedy creator Greg Garcia (Raising Hope, My Name Is Earl), Sprung follows Jack (Garret Dillahunt), who, after being released from prison unexpectedly due to the pandemic, bands together with an unlikely group of formerly incarcerated individuals to use their criminal expertise for good.

Popular comedian Brent Butt returns to small-town Saskatchewan to portray the life he would have led had he gotten a real job: pumping gas at Corner Gas. Each episode of "Corner Gas" delivers a half-hour of comedic voyeurism in a place where everyone knows everyone else's business. The series is set in the fictional town of Dog River, Saskatchewan and focuses on the life (or lack thereof) of gas-station owner Brent LeRoy, coffee-shop proprietor Lacey Burrows, and the folks who populate the area. Dog River is a nice town, but far from the quaint and idyllic little burgs we're used to seeing on TV.

From Greg Daniels (The Office, Parks and Recreation) comes Upload, a new sci-fi comedy. In the near future, people who are near death can be “uploaded” into virtual reality environments. Cash-strapped Nora works customer service for the luxurious “Lakeview” digital afterlife. When party-boy/coder Nathan’s car crashes, his girlfriend uploads him into Nora’s VR world.
