Nancy Smith was the attractive young daughter of the President of the United States. She met a young veterinarian from Center City, Iowa (near Des Moines) and they fell in love. Unfortunately, being under constant surveillance by the two agents of the secret service (Turner and Rodriguez) who did nothing to promote the romance at this point; Nancy's chaperone Abigail and Adam's Uncle Everett also seemed to get in the way constantly, not to mention the press. The President was never shown on camera, but his aides were and his voice was heard on occasion. On November 5, 1970, The couple got married at Adam's house.
