In "The Sidehackers" (also known as Five the Hard Way (1969)), a motorcycle racer and a violent stunt rider start a war of vengeance against each other. Joel and the Bots write a song inspired by the movie and chat with a few characters from the film on the Hexfield.

Joel opens the invention exchange with a remote band saw while the Mads introduce a saxophone that uses Dr. Forester's head. Then Joel and the 'bots watch the first installment of the serial "The Phantom Creeps," with Bela Lugosi as a mad scientist who plans to sell his giant robot to an evil foreign power. Then, for the feature, the boys watch the 1948 jungle adventure "Jungle Goddess," about a troupe of fortune hunters who go deep into the African jungle looking for an heiress who is now being worshiped by the natives.

The Mads kick off the invention exchange with "tank tops," actually tank turrets worn around the mid-section while Joel introduces the Tickle Bazooka. Then Joel and the 'bots are forced to watch a swingin' 60s caper comedy called "Catalina Caper," all about a group of beach party teens who foil a plot by a group of international crooks looking to steal a valuable scroll.

The crew watches the second chapter of "The Phantom Creeps (1939)" and a film about an American spy sent to the Soviet Union to investigate a missile attack in "Rocket Attack U.S.A. (1960)." Joel hosts a quiz show with the Bots.

A college med student's final fraternity initiation goes wrong when he's assigned to retrieve a gold ring from a cadaver he had recently performed an autopsy on in "Ring of Terror (1961)."

The crew takes on The Wild Rebels (1967), a movie about a stock-car racer who is recruited as a getaway driver for a biker gang. The guys get into the spirit of the film by making a commercial for "Wild Rebels" cereal and Joel explains how to appreciate a bad movie.

Frank kicks off the invention exchange with a silly idea for a treadmill with wheels. The Mads don't give Joel a chance to introduce his invention, instead they force him into the theater against his protests where he and the 'bots are tortured with a 1951 adventure picture named "Lost Continent" featuring Hugh Beaumont and Caesar Romero in the story of a troupe of explorers who head into the mountains looking for a lost rocket only to find a valley of dinosaurs.

Joel and the 'bots make futile attempts to puzzle out what's going on in the unintelligible biker film, The Hellcats (1968). Meanwhile, the 'bots and Joel have bad colds. Joel invents a sign-language translator. Tom Servo writes in his diary about the time (before his voice changed) that he, Joel and Crow tried to re-enact a typical "Star Trek" scene: the recurring one where someone has William Shatner by the throat. Crow flashes back to the time Joel gave a lecture on what floating things are funny and which aren't. Joel remembers the time he put cardboard cut-outs in front of the camera lens. Everyone takes time out to hug.

Joel and the Bots watch X Marks the Spot (1942), a short in which a reckless driver finds himself on trial in heaven for his carelessness behind the wheel. In King Dinosaur (1955), the crew pokes fun as scientists are terrorized by snakes, bugs, and dinosaurs on a newly discovered planet.

The Mads force Joel and the 'bots to suffer through First Spaceship on Venus (1960). The big-budget international production features a cute robot chess player, workmen with a single letter on each of their chests and a climactic scene that looks like an apocalyptic toilet overflowing. Meanwhile, Joel adjusts Tom Servo's sarcasm sequencer. Joel's invention of the week is a "junk drawer helper." Crow and Servo invent a robot that communicates by shooting foam from its mouth. The Satellite of Love is attacked by a foreign ship with a gorilla on it. Joel and the 'bots advertise Klack, the dung-like snack food.

The Mads force Joel and the 'bots to watch Godzilla vs. Megalon (1973), the cheesy Japanese monster mash featuring Godzilla's infamous flying kick. It also features characters endlessly running up and down a long flight of stairs, a young boy in desperate need of pants, a giant bug, a robot that looks like Jack Nicholson, a hairy man in a toga, a creature with arms that look like two Chrysler buildings and female dancers whose costumes have pointy heads. Meanwhile, Joel and the 'bots introduce the show in a cheesy showbiz style. The Invention Exchange features clever Halloween costumes. The 'bots argue over their monster drawings. Rex Dart, Eskimo Spy, gets his own trailer. Orville Redenbacher gets mocked. Joel gives the 'bots new limbs. And Cambot rolls a sing-along clip with Jet Jaguar.
Episode 13
Sat, Feb 2, 1991
The Mads force another Godzilla movie on Joel and the Bots. In this one, a group of friends are shipwrecked on an island guarded by a crab monster named Ebirah while Godzilla sleeps in a nearby cave. The Bots meet Mothra on the Hexfield and the Mads start re-thinking the structure of their experiments.
