Premise

The writings and drawings of James Thurber were the basis for this imaginative sitcom about a magazine writer-cartoonist. The show combined live action with animated segments used to illustrate the lead character's flight-of-fancy thoughts. Although it lasted only one season (NBC bumped it from the schedule to pick up `The Red Skelton Show' after CBS dumped him), the series won an Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series and another for star William Windom.
