The writings and drawings of James Thurber were the basis for this imaginative sitcom about a magazine writer-cartoonist. The show combined live action with animated segments used to illustrate the lead character's flight-of-fancy thoughts. Although it lasted only one season (NBC bumped it from the schedule to pick up 'The Red Skelton Show' after CBS dumped him), the series won an Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series and another for star William Windom.
