Rebellious teenager Lee isn't getting on with his single mother's lodger/ boyfriend and his uncle Morgan in Wales is lonely on the farm since his mother died. A solution to everyone's mutual benefit is envisaged but Lee isn't enthusiastic.
Episode 2
Episode #1.2
Lee is unsettled on his first day at the farm and walks into the village. He meets Matthew over a shared interest in tropical fish and meets the eccentric Gregory's who own the tumbledown mansion house where he lives and have just retired to Wales from running a tobacco farm in Africa.
Episode 3
Episode #1.3
Lee is settling in at the farm and taking part in the work. Morgan gets bad news about the farm. Lee has eyes for a local girl which upsets a rival. Morgan makes a proposal to Lee about their future and the farm.
Episode 4

The Gregory's throw a party to impress the local bank manager and it's a washout. Lee decides that things have gone wrong for him in the village and returns home but tensions rise between him and Alan when he gets back.

Lee has returned to the farm and Morgan and it's springtime. Matthew's attractive and sophisticated sister Louise is staying with the Gregory's and catches Lee's eye.

The estate still wants to take the tenancy of the farm back from Morgan despite his efforts. Friends of Lee's visit and Morgan seeks advice from Griffith. Morgan tells the visitors a warts and all tale about his youth on the farm. The Gregory's are still trying to raise interest in turning their house into a hotel.

The estate surveys the farm in preparation for the tribunal outcome and Lee seeks advice from Griffith. The Gregory's project for their house gets cautious approval and Matthew's situation changes. Griffith catches his daughter and a farm hand together. Money is getting tight for Morgan.

The departure of Pugh and Matthew has made Morgan realise his predicament and accept Duncan's offer for the farm tenancy. The farmhouse is being cleared and Val has come to help. Morgan faces his future in a rented cottage on the estate. Lee ponders his future.
