And while she hasn't yet found long term success in that area of her life, she is less confident that either her Mom or Carmelia will fare any better as, in her estimation, if she can't do so on her own in knowing who she is and what she wants, how will someone else? Nancy also believes that Courtney will be able to figure out who she picked between the two men with who she will go on a date, and should choose that person for a second solely to please her. Nancy employs some assistance in looking for that man by someone else who knows Courtney well.

They are also on the same page in that he is ultimately looking for a forever match. Carmelia is not intimidated in believing John an open book, and thus easy to match. Carmelia already had a match in mind after her interview with him. Who Susan and Carmelia end up choosing have more in common than each having a date with John.

Twenty year old Linguistics student Breanna has just been too busy with other things in her life to look for a boyfriend, which her mother Suzanne would like to rectify (she having a boyfriend that is). Breanna has very specific likes such as surfing, Hawaii (where she and Suzanne vacation together often), nail art, and cats. She would like a man who has both looks and brains, the latter in she being a self-professed nerd. She thinks that Suzanne will do well in the task in knowing her well, although she won't, despite Suzanne's want, give her preferential treatment just because she's her mother. Carmelia admits finding someone will be a challenge in Breanna's diverse wish list, including someone taller than her 5'10" self. But both Carmelia and Suzanne can admit that the other did a good job in their choices. Only Breanna will be able to break the stalemate.

He has never brought a date home, she believes either in not yet having found the right girl or feeling that she would be too critical in that protective sense. Dayton admits that his dating life is fairly non-existent and thus he gets the impression that Mom may not know what type of girl he would like. Carmelia too admits Dayton may be a challenge if only because of his tender age, her clients usually older. And she also admits that Stacey may be the most fierce Mom with who she has had to face probably again because Dayton is her baby. But Mom and Carmelia do end up finding dates for Dayton, each focusing on Dayton's hobbies in structuring their respective dates. But one thing done during one of those dates is a major faux pas, at east in Mom's mind.

Thirty-five year old actor Emily admits that she often falls for the good looks, and usually dates younger guys in that being who she attracts. Her mom Beverly, who also works in the industry, believes it's time for Emily to get over the superficial to find someone with who she can settle down, which Emily doesn't totally disagree with, although she still wants the good looking guy. In speaking to Emily, Carmelia too thinks Emily is looking for a more stable relationship. She also finds Beverly a force of nature who will win at all cost. Carmelia and Beverly go on two different tracts to find a match for Emily in both looking for that maturity. While both men are polite, they are very different, a smooth operator versus a gentleman, which should make the choice for Emily more clear, the operative word being should.
