A profile of Ann Hobson Pilot, the Boston Symphony's longtime (1980-2009) principal harpist, follows the trailblazing African-American musician from her Philadelphia childhood and early career in popular music through her 40 years with the BSO. The documentary also explores racial diversity in the classical-music world, and concludes with excerpts of Pilot's premiere performance with the BSO of a harp concerto composed in her honor by John Williams in 2009.
