Family members, both living and dead, figure prominently in the seventh and final season of this paranormal drama: Alison (Patricia Arquette) is concerned about her brother (David Arquette, stepping in the role originated by Ryan Hurst) after she dreams about him; Joe (Jake Weber) visits his ailing mother (Kathy Baker) in the hospital; Ariel (Sofia Vassilieva) communicates with her late grandfather as she prepares to head off to college; and Scanlon (David Cubitt) is troubled by a recurring dream about his deceased brother. The series finale features both a seven-year flash-forward and a 41-year jump in time.
