Former British Special Air Services soldier Bear Grylls returns to host Season 2 of the nature-reality series, in which he faces perilous situations in exotic locales to show how one can weather extreme conditions and find a way back to civilization.\ First, Bear finds sustenance by snacking on a deadly scorpion amid the sand dunes of the Sahara Desert. Then, the survivalist sets off for Central America, where he contends with ravenous mosquitoes to navigate the mangrove swamps of Panama. Bear leaves the humid jungle behind to tackle chilly challenges in Patagonia, the southernmost tip of South America. In a break from his usual sleepover in the wild, the adventurer takes a moment to display the strange, and sometimes unsavory, menu items nature can serve up in a pinch. Then, the globe-trotting resumes with journeys to Siberia and remote regions of Africa, where indigenous experts school the host in their means of survival.
