In Magical Nyan Nyan Taruto, ordinary house cats are much more than they seem. While they appear to humans to be the pets we know and love, they are actually just people with cat-ears -- with the intelligence of humans and the personality of cats -- and this is the form they see when they look at each other. Cats have an old folk tale about a cat family called the Nekomatas, who possessed special, magical powers, but have long since died out. One cat-girl named Taruto, however, is convinced that she is the long-lost descendant of the Nekomatas, and so she works very hard to perfect her cat-magic. Unfortunately, she doesn't really know what she's doing and usually ends up with a furry disaster that drives her masters crazy. As she pursues more knowledge about her heritage, Taruto makes numerous friends and enemies along the way.
