In the fourth season of "Jane the Virgin," Jane Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez) moves on from the death of her husband Michael Cordero (Brett Dier) and reconnects with her first love Adam Alvaro (Tyler Posey). However, Rafael Solano (Justin Baldoni), the father of Jane's child Mateo (Elias Janssen), remains in the picture, and Jane retains unresolved feelings about him. In the meantime, Rafael has problems of his own, one of them being how to get his hotel back from his sister Luisa (Yara Martinez). His ex-wife Petra (Yael Grobglas) is supposed to help him solve this problem, except Petra needs to deal with her evil twin sister Anezka (Yael Grobglas) first. Jane's parents Xo (Andrea Navedo) and Rogelio (Jaime Camil) iron out their own marital issues even as Rogelio faces the birth of his child by his ex-girlfriend Darci (Justina Machado). Brooke Shields makes a special guest appearance as River Fields. Guest stars for Season 4 include Sharon Osbourne, Eva Longoria, and Sheryl Underwood.
