J Schwanke's Life in Bloom is a half-hour lifestyle show featuring flowers and the positive impact they make on daily life. Host J Schwanke is a fourth generation florist, award-winning author and well-known flower industry educator and speaker whose passion for flowers is infectious. J's affable and inquisitive personality draws in an audience. The mission of Life in Bloom is to educate viewers on the benefits of incorporating flowers into their everyday lives - and how truly easy it is. Did you know it's been scientifically proven that the act of arranging flowers lowers blood pressure and releases endorphins in the body? Each episode of Life in Bloom features a wealth of ideas as J takes viewers on a journey with flowers at every turn: Special guests appear in each episode and share how flowers intersect their lives and interests. Chef Jenna, a restauranteur, radio/media personality Kim Carson and CraftSanity.com's Jennifer Ackerman Haywood are among the guests in season one. Viewers tour flower farms and greenhouses around the country and visit flower festivals and special events. J explains the concept of "Arrange Plant" and shows how easy it is to arrange flowers from your own garden. Segments also feature recipes with floral ingredients "lavender shortbread, flower cocktail hour". J also travels to Moss Mountain Farm for a tour of the gardens with his friend and special guest P. Allen Smith.
