The very bizarre happenings in the lives of the residents of the seedy Hotel Baltimore. Despite their disparate backgrounds and ethnicities, these neighbors became like family. George and Gordon are middle-aged gay lovers, Suzy and April were prostitutes, Mr. Morse is a grouchy old man, Jackie is a young tomboy, Mrs. Bellotti is an eccentric woman with a never-seen psychotic son Moose who once glued himself to the ceiling, and Charles is a wise Black man. Bill is the hotel's desk clerk, and Clifford is its young manager.

The residents are moved to protests, with a highly imaginative maneuver by the unseen Moose.

He falls head over heels in love with her, giving April a rare opportunity to be treated like a queen.
