
Here's Boomer
Boomer was a cute stray dog of mixed breeding who wandered around the country getting involved with people and their problems, including a deaf girl believed to be mentally disabled by her parents, a son neglected by his workaholic father, a private detective guarding valuable jewels, and a band of dognappers. Later in the series, Boomer was able to talk to the viewing audience, so we could know what Boomer was "feeling" at any given moment.

Boomer goes into a mansion and sees that the owner's dog looks like him. When the dog decides to go, Boomer decides to take his place. The owner tells Boomer thinking he's her dog that she made arrangements for him to be with her when she goes. That means when she dies he will be put to sleep and buried with her. And she dies not long after that. And her lawyer is making the preparations. But two of her employees decide to find a way to stop it.
