The Enfield Poltergeist

46 mins

In 1977, police went to a house in Enfield, London, to a reported burglary - furniture had been moved and there had been loud banging. The two officers could now find no signs of a break-in, but they saw, among other things, a chair slides several meters along the floor by itself. It was just the first of many extraordinary occurrences that culminated in ghostly voices and levitation. To this day, the mysterious activities in the house are difficult to explain.

Episode 2

The Conjuring House

45 mins

In the 1970s, Andrea Perron moved with her family to a farm in Rhode Island, USA. The former residents were apparently in a hurry to get away. "For the sake of your family, leave the lights on in this house at night," they told her father Roger. Soon the family heard whispers and saw visions. Andrea's mother asked ghost hunters Ed and Lorraine Warren for help. Their investigations led to a séance that changed the Perron family's lives forever.

Episode 3

The Edinburgh Executioner

45 mins

On Christmas Eve 1998, a homeless man sought shelter at Greyfriars Kirkyard in Edinburgh, Scotland. He broke into George Mackenzie's mausoleum, but fell into a pile of rotting corpses. He screamed so loudly that passers-by fled. Had he awakened Bloody Mackenzie's apparition? The judge who in the 17th century had sentenced several hundred men, women and children to death? And why did Edinburgh City Council ban access to Greyfriars Kirkyard in the interests of public safety?

In 1958, two young women drove together to a nightclub in Georgia, USA, on the other side of Lake Lanier. But they never returned home. A few weeks later, stories emerged of a ghostly figure: a woman wearing a blue dress walking across the lake while cries for help could be heard from shore. Then there were unexplained drownings, while survivors told of the feeling of being pulled into the depths or held down by invisible hands.
