It was a rough and tumble region populated by prospectors, seafarers and ladies of the night. In America's final frontier, dreams were doused, lives were cut short and souls were sent to their final rest. But some, it seems, never completed that journey. HAUNTED NORTHWEST tours the evergreen states of Oregon and Washington to explore the tales and legends of past residents who, locals contend, refused to let a little thing like death separate them from their surroundings. We'll meet guests at a Portland tavern who claim to have encountered the spirit of a young woman named Rose, the long-ago victim of foul play. Spend the night in Port Townsend, Washington, in a hotel said to be among the most haunted in America, and hear the sad story of a Jesuit priest who seems unable to take his eternal reward.
