Wade's parents fear that the lavish home dinner they tricked him and Zoe to attend failed, but he gets inspired to give Zoe another chance, only to hear that it's "too late", her confused conclusion after a mystery pregnancy test. Lemon returns early with perfect catch Dr. Henry Dalton--alas, just a mutual ruse.

George cleverly uses his position as the Truitt brothers' band manager to sabotage AnnaBeth's plan to lease out his houseboat, which inspires Lemon to try again to match the frequent near-couple, who enjoy it as much as they fight it.

Wade can't believe Zoe dismisses his marriage proposal "meaningless", but others make her see sense.

George and AnnaBeth must decide if their futures are compatible or which will move for the other. Zoe is angry that that Brick seems to replace her, but it's a young reinforcement. After some dismay when Lavon comes clean about the accidental proposal, all three couples end up hooked. Just when Wade despairs that Zoe will never accept, she decides to get married just before the baby is born, which requires much wheeling and dealing from the whole town.
