13 Episodes 2011 - 2011
When Alex (Elisha Cuthbert) leaves Dave (Zachary Knighton) at the altar, their circle of six Chicago friends deals with the complications arising from the break-up of a seemingly perfect couple. Alex's married big sister Jane (Eliza Coupe) is the perfectionist of the group, but slows her plan for a full-fledged suburban family with Brad (Damon Wayans Jr.) after the break-up. The single life is nothing new for Penny (Casey Wilson), who is seen dating someone new every week while annoying the gang with her misguided optimism and use of abbreviated words ("abreevs"). Rounding out the sextet is Max (Adam Pally), a non-stereotypical gay man with a casual approach to relationships who shares his place with Dave after the break-up. Max is a "straight guy who likes dudes," according to Penny, who often served as his date before he fully came out.
