Ethan returns to investigate the gunshots finds the women alone, and his partner stays with the women while Ethan pursues the robbers. One wounded robber dies saying there was another money box in the wagon train, so the robbers turn to pursue Ethan, his partner, and the women.

Ethan's only witness has been tortured by the sheriff and things don't look good.
