Two Irish insurgents are assigned the task of guarding a pair of captured British soldiers in this dramatic adaptation of Frank O' Connor's prizewinning story starring Frank Converse, Estelle Parsons, and Nesbitt Blaisdell. As the foursome attempt to maintain peaceful relations in the farmhouse of a lively widow, the prospect of reprisals for any harm that comes to the captive soldiers looms large on the conscience of their Irish captor Barney Callahan (Converse) during pleasant nights of dancing, card games, and amiable debates about their respective religions and countries.

A provocative legal drama from David E. Kelley about young associates at a bare-bones Boston firm and their scrappy boss, Bobby Donnell. The show's forte is its storylines about 'people who walk a moral tightrope.' 'The Practice' won numerous Emmys during its run, as well as a Peabody and Humanitas Prize in 2002 and 2003. In its eighth and final season, six regulars were cast off and James Spader came aboard as a brash lawyer, breathing new life---at least temporarily---into the sagging series.
A young boy is trapped in the middle of a dispute he doesn't understand in this short drama from Canadian filmmaker Karl Raudsepp-Heame. A man from the city is driving through the woods when his car breaks down. Needing to get to the other side of a nearby lake, he finds a man who lives near the shore and offers to pay him for a boat ride. While the man with the boat wants the money, he displays a clear contempt for his customer, and while he tells his son to hop aboard the boat for some fishing, he polishes off some whiskey while his charter waits. While the boy is thrilled about spending time on the water with his dad, the unspoken tension between the two men builds as the youngster struggles to comprehend what is happening. Men On A Lake was screened in competition at the 2007 Slamdance Film Festival.
