Police detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli) discovers he's a descendant of Grimms, a unique family of hunters who track supernatural creatures called Wesen—otherwise known as fairy-tale monsters that actually live in the real world. In the first season, Nick's Aunt Marie (Kate Burton) tells Nick of his family's history, and Nick adjusts to his new powers while trying to hide his secret from his girlfriend, Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch), and his partner, Hank (Russell Hornsby). Meanwhile, Nick learns more about the world of Grimms and Wesen from an unusual source: a reformed blutbad—aka the Big Bad Wolf—named Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell). Despite centuries of their kinds battling each other, Nick and Monroe form an unlikely friendship. Sasha Roiz and Reggie Lee also star.
