Mafuyu Satô, clutching his Gibson guitar, meets fellow student Ritsuka Uenoyama after a chance encounter on the gym staircase. Uenoyama, knowledgeable about guitars, agrees to fix Satô's and teach him how to play. He invites Satô to a jam session with his bandmates, Haruki Nakayama and Akihiko Kaji. Impressed by Satô's beautiful voice, Uenoyama envisions him as the lead singer. After an emotional conversation with an old friend, Satô accepts the offer. With his new friends' support, Satô must learn to play and confront the mysterious past behind his guitar.

After talking to Hiiragi, Mafuyu is able to face his past a little better and invites him to their concert. But on the day of the concert, Mafuyu finds himself unable to sing.
