8 Episodes 2003 - 2003
Set in late 1940, the British mystery series' second season opens with Detective Chief Superintendent Christopher Foyle (Michael Kitchen) investigating an apparent case of looting after a German bomb destroys the boarding house where Sam (Honeysuckle Weeks), his driver, lives. As if that's not enough, at the same time he looks into a possible suicide and a suspected German spy; and reunites, albeit under less-than-ideal circumstances, with an old flame. For her part, the suddenly homeless Sam accepts an offer from Sgt. Milner (Anthony Howell) to bunk at his place, though the innocent arrangement turns awkward when Milner's wife, who had been staying with relatives, unexpectedly returns home; and later goes undercover to help her boss investigate a bootleg fuel operation. Other cases involve suspected Nazi sympathizers; and claims that Foyle made seditious statements in a London bunker during an air raid.
