Oslo investigators Myklebust and Oby start to close in on the perpetrators of Governor Munk's death and the last obstacle between them and the truth is Dan Anderssen. Two mysterious strangers, Boyd and Elsa, arrive in town from the US and have an immediate and terrifying impact on Fortitude.

Eric and his colleagues are called in to investigate what happened to Myklebust and Oby and what they discover isn't as straightforward as it first seems. Michael believes he has a chance at some redemption after meeting Elsa, but soon finds he is caught up in her bigger plan for survival.
