Based on a novel by Ann Oakley, the British miniseries The Men's Room starred Harriet Walter as officer worker Charity Walton. Despite her status as wife and mother, Charity entered into a romantic liaison with a coworker named Mark Carleton (Bill Nighy). The ensuing consequences not only exacted a great emotional toll on Charity, her husband, her lover, and his wife, but also exposed the hypocrisies of the good-old-boy office mentality. The five 50-minute episodes of The Men's Room were telecast by BBC2 in 1991.
A cynical engineer teams up with an FBI therapist to solve a string of safety-deposit-box robberies, which are soon revealed to be a small portion of a massive conspiracy.
