Encounters with Evil looks at people who kill for the thrill of it. He examines the case of necrophiliac Dennis Nilsen who murdered fifteen people and kept a grotesque collection of body parts. It also looks at the cases of Australia's backpacker killer Ivan Milat and the gay slayer Colin Ireland who became a serial killer as a New Years resolution.

Psychopaths

Encounters with Evil looks at psychopaths who are incapable of empathy and prey on the innocent and the abandoned. It looks at the cases of Joanna Dennehy who murdered three men and attacked two others over a ten day killing spree. It also looks at the cases of serial killers Peter Tobin and Moors murderer Ian Brady.

Evil Imprisoners

Encounters with Evil looks at criminals who kidnap, abuse, imprison, and enslave their victims. It first looks at the case of Austrian Wolfgang Priklopil who abducted Natascha Kampusch for his homemade dungeon. It also looks at the cases of kidnapper Donald Neilson (aka the Black Panther), Austria's Josef Fritzl, and America's Ariel Castro.

Prophets of Doom

Encounters with Evil looks at cult leads who, though gifted with charisma, chose to take their followers down dark paths that led to terrifying ends. It looks at the case of Jim Jones who lead his People's Temple to South America's Jonestown before instructing them to commit suicide. It also looks at the cases of Marshall Applewhite and David Koresh.

Kidnap Killer

It also looks at the murder of James Bulger by two young British boys Robert Thompson and Jon Venables, the abduction of Peter Falconio by Bradley John Murdoch in Australia, and the murder of two girls by Ian Huntley.

Encounters with Evil look at criminals who prey on members of their own families. It looks at cases of family annihilation and other murders in the family. It looks at the case of Jeremy Bamber who killed three generations of his own family in the White House Farm murder. It also looks at the cases of child killer Stuart Hazell and wife murderer Mitchell Quy.

Murderous Medics

It looks at the crimes of Beverly Allitt who murdered four children while working as a nurse in Lincolnshire. It also looks at the cases of Josef Mengele, Myles Bradbury, and Harold Shipman.
