In the days leading up to a memorial race, Dr. Oakley has to clear her caseload and get ready to pitch in on race day. She meets the team of one veteran musher whose dogs will soon be pulling a sled, and later checks out a former champion sled dog with some grave-looking tumors. On race day, Michelle has her hands full. From a dog with a swollen paw to a dehydrated pup with a racing heart rate, she has several cases that test her skills.

Dr. Oakley is called to Quebec to help a team of scientists battling to save a unique caribou herd from being wiped out. To reach their goal, the team needs to capture four pregnant caribou and transport them via helicopter to a large pen where they will stay until their foals are born and old enough to defend themselves. Back in the home clinic, Dr. Oakley reunites with a Lab named Rose for a checkup and what she finds worries her.

She faces a wolverine at the Kroschel Wildlife Park, and wraps up the aftermath of a coyote attack that left a family dog with a bloody tail. Then, tragedy strikes the Oakley's own backyard when another coyote attack puts Willow's goat in critical condition.

The end of winter means time for the Yukon's isolated farmers to take care of some routine animal maintenance. But nothing is routine when it comes to animal care. Dr. Oakley visits a caribou with a nasty leg injury; and is faced with the responsibility of having to put down one of the Yukon's smaller animals. Later, she has to act fast when Ringo the donkey starts to wake up in the middle of his castration surgery.

At Bird TLC in Alaska, Michelle examines bald eagles that were injured in a wildfire and examines a gull that was shot by a human. Back in Haines, AK, she gets an emergency call about a moose that seems to be wasting away, and there's no clue as to what's ailing her. Michelle then works side-by-side with fellow Yukon vet Candace Stuart on a pair of mini-horses that are learning to live peacefully with their new owner.

Dr. Oakley leads a lynx kitten vaccination that turns into a pursuit in the underbrush. In Alaska, she checks on a hound dog with swollen ears, two black labs who wound up on the losing side of a porcupine fight and a rehabilitated great horned owl that's ready to be set free. None of that adds up to the emotional toll it takes on the Yukon Vet when her eldest daughter Sierra heads off into the bush for three weeks of intense guide training.

It's the end of the summer in the Yukon and time for many animals to go into rut. Michelle visits Wayne Grove's El Dorado Ranch whose elk bulls aren't showing signs of going into rut. After making her rounds, Michelle heads out for some play at the Southeast Alaska state fair with her daughters Sierra, Maya and Willow. She ends the day with one of the most coveted experiences as a veterinarian, releasing an animal back into the wild.

Dr. Oakley is headed to the big city - Anchorage, Alaska - and she's bringing Maya and Sierra along for some bonding time. Once in Anchorage Michelle takes the girls to the Moose Mamas to evaluate some orphaned moose calves before racing the clock to release them back into the wild. Across town, some reindeer have developed mysterious and grotesque facial injuries.

The clock is ticking to treat young wood bison with de-wormer before they are released into the wild. But when the herd spooks and begins to stampede, she must decide if the work can continue. A group of wild horses creating traffic hazards needs to be rounded up. Then, scandal rocks a petting zoo when female rabbits inside a locked pen become pregnant. Michelle plays pet detective as she tries to collar the bunny baby-daddy.
